Extension notice for submissions: New deadline set for 31 August 2015

The Mission of China to the European Union is pleased to announce the extension of the deadline for its ongoing China Unlimited Creative Contest. In response to popular demand, notably from a large number of the contest participants, the deadline has been extended from 31 July to 31 August 2015.

The China Unlimited Creative contest was launched in April in the framework of celebrations for the 40th Anniversary of China-EU ties. Created by the Mission of China to the European Union and organised by Atlas International Culture, the contest encourages citizens of the 28 EU Member States to express their views on China and China-EU relations through artistic means.

Participants can compete in four categories: photo, video, essay and fine art, with the chance of winning one of 15 trips to discover China. Selected artworks are published on the Contest website (http://www.chinaunlimited.eu/) and submitted to the votes of a Professional Jury composed of artists, culture specialists and press representatives. The final selection will be made by an outstanding Grand Jury presided by H.E. Ambassador YANG Yanyi, Head of the China Mission to the EU, Mr. Tibor NAVRACSICS, European Commissioner for Education and Culture and Mr. Didier REYNDERS, Deputy Prime Minister and Belgian Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade. The awards for the best artworks will be announced and distributed during an official ceremony in September 2015.

The Contest is organised via the China Unlimited website until 31 August 2015, with the support of Hainan Airlines, Huawei and Maasmechelen Village.
