23 JUNE 2015. The most obvious symbol of this trend is Franco Dragone, a Walloon artistic director internationally famous for his exceptional shows. Last December, his “Han Show” opened in the city of Wuhan, the same city where HRH King Philippe started his Chinese mission last Monday. Franco Dragone, who is also part of the s delegation, will sign a new agreement with his Chinese partner this Wednesday. This agreement includes the organisation of 6 new shows in China and is estimated to reach the amount of 1.5 billion EURO.
In addition to this success story, Chinese cultural events are also standing out in Belgium. Since the beginning of this year, many events aiming to promote the Chinese culture in Belgium have reached a wide audience. Dance shows – such as the Legend of the Sun and the Maritime Silk Road -, the Chinese Film Festival, the Ping-pong Tournament, are all initiatives of the Chinese Mission to the Europen Union, in the framework of the 40th Anniversary of the EU-China relations, a perfect occasion to realize those projects.
On top of all, some lucky people might fulfill their dreams very soon: by participating in the China Unlimited contest (www.chinaunlimited.eu), 15 citizens of the European Union will have the chance to leave for a 10-day trip to discover China. The Middle Kingdom is only a few clicks away!
This contest, which calls for participants’ creativity, takes place until July 31st, 2015 on the Internet, with the support of Atlas International Culture, Hainan Airlines, Huawei and Maasmechelen Village.
