China Unlimited Creative Contest came to a close: Awarding Ceremony to announce final 15 winners on September 15th
On August 31st, the China Unlimited Creative Contest came to a close. With more than 500 participations submitted and validated in the 4 categories, the initiative reached a great success all over Europe. 339 participants were taking part in this original and unique project launched by the Mission of China to the EU and organized with their partner Atlas International Culture. Artworks are now in the process of selection and winners will be awarded with a trip to China by a prestigious Jury. The Awarding Ceremony will take place on September 15th in Brussels, during the EU-China High Level People-to-People Dialogue.
The pictures, drawings, paintings, essays and videos are still displayed on the China Unlimited contest website. Even if votes and comments are closed, the gallery still showcases the great diversity of the topics chosen by the candidates to express their views on China or on the EU-China relations. In this year of celebrations for the 40th Anniversary of the EU-China Diplomatic Ties, participations included artworks about the symbolic giant panda, the economic development of China, the Chinese gastronomy, calligraphy, or simply the daily lives of Chinese people, just to name a few.
The lucky winners will soon be selected by a Professional Jury, composed by photographs, journalists and cultural specialists, and by a prestigious Grand Jury, chaired by Madam YANG Yanyi, Ambassador of China to the EU, Mr. Tibor NAVRACSICS, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, and Mr. Didier REYNDERS, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs. The other two Jury members are Ms. Eva PAUNOVA, one of the youngest MEPs and Ambassador of the Contest, and Mr. Franco DRAGONE, Belgian world-known artistic director and show creator.
Prizes will be awarded during the High-Level People-to-People Dialogue session, in the presence of the Vice-Premier Madam LIU Yandong and the Grand Jury members, during the official Awarding Ceremony on September 15th.
