A wide contest open to every EU citizen will be supported by a prestigious jury

A creative contest open to every citizen of the European Union will offer to its participants a chance to win one of the 15 trips to discover China. An outstanding Grand Jury will reward the best artworks during an official ceremony in September 2015. 

16 JUNE 2015. This original initiative is brought by the Chinese Mission to the European Union, and is organized by the company Atlas International Culture. To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of EU-China relationship, citizens of the 28 EU member countries are encouraged to express themselves about China in an artistic way.

Four categories are opened to the participants: photos, videos, essays and fine arts. Selected artworks are published on the Contest website (http://www.chinaunlimited.eu/) and submitted to the votes of a Professional Jury of artists, specialists of the cultural field and press representatives.

After this first selection, the five members of the Grand Jury will reward the winners in each category. This special Jury will be presided by three prominent political figures:

  • YANG Yanyi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the EU.
  • Tibor NAVRACSICS, European Commissioner for Education and Culture.
  • Didier REYNDERS, Deputy Prime Minister and Belgian Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade.

To date, two other personalities have confirmed their participation as members of this high-level panel:

  • Eva PAUNOVA, Member of the European Parliament and of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China.
  • Franco DRAGONE, world-famous Belgian artist and artistic director of numerous international shows, among which is a new production “Han Show.

The contest takes place on the website until July 31st, 2015, with the support of Hainan Airlines, Huawei and Maasmechelen Village.
