Gate to China

0629 Gate to China

Chinese gate in a beautiful oriental garden built by king Leopold the second in Brussels in the beginning of 20th century. It was created out of intention to come closer to the exotic world of China.

The gate connecting two cultures – today I want to present contemporary dance as a new medium for communication.

  1. Dramatic! I love all the interplays of lines and angles here – in the gate, the dancer’s body, the bricks, the stones up in the right-hand corner….
