My ‘’cultural’’ contacts with China

Hello, dear friends from Europe and China!
I am thirteen years old Bulgarian girl and all I know about China till now, came from my favourite cartoon ‘’Mulan’’ (I watched it hundreds of times), old videos with my father’s favourite actors Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, and ‘’Kung Fu Panda’’.I was greatly impressed by the Chinese martial art- Kung Fu.
In Bulgaria and in the other countries of European Union, there are many Chinese shops and the Chinese food is well known.
Maybe, trade relations between China and EU are very developed, but for me, the most important is- get to know Chinese traditions and culture, because only this way you can get to like the nation of some country.
In my imagination China is- The Great Wall of China, which is built along east-to-west to protect the Chinese states and empires, the Chinese dragons and the Chinese zodiac, but I am pretty sure that there are so many facts that I and the other people don’t know about China.
What about Chinese people, for example?
What about Chinese literature and traditions?
The world’s most populous and the world’s second- largest country, can tell more about its history and culture.
Then people get to know how they are the same in their difference.
There are close resemblances between Bulgaria and China, too. For example: proto- Bulgarian zodiac and Chinese zodiac are analogical- signs of the both zodiacs are animals (horse, goat, snake and more). One of the most famous symbols of China is the legendary creature- the dragon. In our mythology we have dragons too, but they are a little different from the Chinese, and we call them ‘’zmei’’.
Despite the fact that Bulgaria is smaller than China, I would like people in other countries get to love Bulgaria because we have magical traditions and folklore. People must know the Bulgarian barefooted dance over live coals called ‘’nestinarstvo’’ and our colorful folk dress.
Bulgaria, all other countries of European Union and China, must developed their cultural relationships because ‘’When people work with one mind, they can even remove Mount Taishan’’ (Chinese Wisdom Quote).
